Mr.Patnaik chaired a High Level Review Meeting of the Mammoth Project here on 31 December. Secretary to CM VK Pandian moderated the discussion. He has set the timeline and said that the World Class Facility will be inaugurated on 1 January, 2024. State Government has the vision to transform the SCB Medical College and Hospital into an AIIMS Plus Health Care Institution, said Chief Minister. ... The mammoth project will come up in several phases and in the first phase, the Medical College and Hospital will have 3,500 beds which will be upgraded to 5,000 beds in Phase II. The World Class Health Care Facility will be developed over 175 acres of land with ultra modern facilities for patients and doctors will be completed with a stipulated time. It has been planned to construct 1,280 staff quarters for the employees and 2,200 Additional Hostel facilities for Medical Students.

Following are some numbers that are mentioned in https://tathya.in/1640-cr-sanctioned-for-scb/ 

  • Rs 1640.87 crore: Amount sanctioned by state government so far
  • 5000 beds: Total beds after the redevelopment 
  • Rs 4474 crore: Projects undertaken in the first phase to be completed by 2024
  • Rs 2636.20 crore : L&T to redevelop the clinical part using that amount. 4 clinical blocks (B+G+9) & 2 utility blocks. 4240 The four clinical blocks are—general medicine, specialised medicine, specialised surgery and general surgery & trauma.
  • Rs 888.50: NCC limited to redevelop the residential part using that amount
  • Rs 4474.49 crore: Amount for which administrative approval has been accorded
  • Rs 706.34 crore: Expenditure made till 21st Feb 2023.
  • 4240 : Total number of IPD beds after completion (current number is 2182 beds)
  • 13 towers comprising 672 residential units and 2278 rooms in 3 residential pockets namely Kathajodi Residency, Birupa Residency and Mahanadi Residency.
  • G+2 SCB DAV Public School & Allied Infrastructure
  • Rs. 130.18 crores - Other works such as development of playground, parking, Dharamsala, BOSE Guest House, SEED Corporation Building, Lift Irrigation Quarters, SRC Office Building, Leather Corporation Building, Textile office, 3 Foot Over Bridges, Red Cross Blood Bank, STP, Aahar Kendra

As per https://kalingatv.com/odisha/cuttack-scb...ematology/ SCB plans to start PhD in Haematology. This will be the first PhD program at SCB Medical college.
