Details of the Barabati stadium revamp is emerging. It will be a brand new stadium and apparently Populous is the architect.

• Seating capacity 60K (current one has capacity of 42 K)
  
• Area adjacent to Barabati stadium will be developed for retail mall along with 5-star hotel and office spaces. 
  
• Area in front of the stadium will be developed as a public plaza. It will become one of the main open public spaces for citizens of Cuttack.
  
• Budget 600 crore - to be spent by the state
