State govt has submitted proposals for 11 new railway line projects before the Centre, of which the railways has approved two.

1. Puri-Konark, 
   
2. Buramara-Chakulia, 
   
3. Jajpur Keonjhar Road - Dhamara port,
   
4. Talcher-Gopalpur, 
   
5. Bargarh-Nuapada via Padampur,
   
6. Badampahar-Keonjhar, 
   
7. Junagarh-Nabarangpur-Ambaguda,
   
8. Raja Athagarh-Tapang bypassing Bhubaneswar, 
   
9. Paradip-Dhamra, 
   
10. Gopalpur-Singapur Road and
    
11. Champua-Dhamra via Anandpur
    

The railways has approved the Puri-Konark project and Jaleswar-Chandaneswar new line by changing the alignment of  earlier Jaleswar-Digha proposal.
