In May 2023, I read about Mr. Pandian's visit to Harekrushna Mahtab library in Bhubaneswar (see https://odishabytes.com/govt-to-take-up-...ubaneswar/ and https://sambadenglish.com/odisha-govt-to...o-readers/ ) and the proposed plans to improve it and establish another such library in Bapuji Nagar.
However, the proposed scale is kind of small. One needs to look at the Anna Centenary Library in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. While the Harekrushna Mahtab library, Bhubaneswar is 16,000 sq ft, the Anna Centenary Library in Tamil Nadu (built in 2010 using 172 crores) is 333,140 sq ft, about TWENTY times larger in size. (Source: https://www.chennaionline.in/city-guide/...ry-library and http://hkmsl.gov.in/) Chief Ministers of other states have visited this library in Chennai for inspiration. (See https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/t...853025.ece )
We should have a state library like the above near Cuttack and a city library like the above near Bhubaneswar. Slightly smaller libraries should be established in Berhampur, Rourkela and Sambalpur.
