The state government plans to spend 1000 crores for further development of VSSUT which will include expanding its student capacity from 5000 to 10000. Following is an excerpt from https://sambadenglish.com/odisha-govt-to...secretary/ .

“The state government will develop VSSUT as a centre of excellence for technical education. Around 80 acres of land has been identified for the expansion of VSSUT. Now, the university has 5,000 students. The government is planning to raise the number to 10, 000,” Mohapatra said.

Naveen Approves Rs 2,000-Crore Master Plan To Develop VSSUT At Burla

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday approved the master plan for transformation of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Technology (VSSUT) at Burla in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.


As per the plan, the transformation of the institute will be executed in three phases with a budget of Rs 2,000 crore. 

... The plan entails that the VSSUT would be developed into a multi-disciplinary engineering and research university by 2030. To be made at par with IIT and NIT, it will have 7 schools including School of Engineering, Skill Development Centre, School of Medical Technology and School of Basic Science.

Those schools would have more than 14 different departments, 24 engineering programmes and 27 centres of excellence. Besides classrooms, each school will have the facility of laboratory, research centre, professors’ chambers and students’ gallery.

Each centre of excellence will have tie-up with respective industries and at least one former student will serve as a mentor there. It will also serve as a nodal centre for consultation and research unit for development of urban and rural areas.

The student intake capacity of the VSSUT will be increased ... to 10,864.

      ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଶ୍ରୀ ନବୀନ ପଟ୍ଟନାୟକ ଆଜି ବୁର୍ଲାସ୍ଥିତ ବୀର ସୁରେନ୍ଦ୍ରସାଏ ୟୁନିଭରସିଟି ଅଫ ଟେକ୍‌ନୋଲେଜି (VSSUT)ର ଉନ୍ନତିକରଣ ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତାବିତ ମାଷ୍ଟରପ୍ଲାନକୁ ଅନୁମୋଦିତ କରିଛନ୍ତି । 2026ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଏହି ଅନୁଷ୍ଠାନରେ ୨୪ଟି ଅଣ୍ଡର ଗ୍ରାଜୁଏଟ ବିଭାଗରେ ୧୦ ହଜାରରୁ ଅଧିକ ଛାତ୍ରଛାତ୍ରୀ ପାଠ ପଢିବାର ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା କରାଯିବ। ଏଥିପାଇଁ ୩ଟି ପର୍ଯ୍ୟାୟରେ 2000 କୋଟି ଟଙ୍କା ଖର୍ଚ୍ଚ କରାଯିବ।

ସୂଚନାଯୋଗ୍ୟ ଯେ ଗତ ଅଗଷ୍ଟ ମାସ ୨୫ ତାରିଖରେ ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଶାସନ ସଚିବ, ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀଙ୍କ ୫-ଟି ସଚିବ ପ୍ରମୁଖ ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀଙ୍କ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶକ୍ରମେ ବୁର୍ଲା ଗସ୍ତ କରି ଏହାକୁ ଏକ ଉତ୍କର୍ଷ କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ଭାବରେ ବିକଷିତ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ମାଷ୍ଟର ପ୍ଲାନ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରିବାକୁ ପରାମର୍ଶ ଦେଇଥିଲେ।

ଏହି ମାଷ୍ଟରପ୍ଲାନ ଅନୁଯାୟୀ ୨୦୩୦ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଏହାକୁ ଏକ Multi-Disciplinary Engineering & Research University ଭାବରେ ବିକଶିତ କରାଯିବ। ଏହା ଦେଶର ପ୍ରମୁଖ ଇଞ୍ଜିନିୟରିଂ ଅନୁଷ୍ଠାନ IIT ଓ NIT  ପରି ସଂସ୍ଥା ମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସମକକ୍ଷ ହେବ। ଏଥିରେ School of Engineering, Skill Development Centre, School of Medical Technology ଓ School of Basic Science ପରି ୭ଟି ସ୍କୁଲ ରହିବ।

ମାଷ୍ଟରପ୍ଲାନ ଅନୁଯାୟୀ ଏହି ଅନୁଷ୍ଠାନରେ ୧୦,୮୬୪ ଜଣ ଛାତ୍ରଛାତ୍ରୀ ପାଠ ପଢିବା ପାଇଁ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା କରାଯିବ। ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ୨୮୪୯ ଛାତ୍ରଛାତ୍ରୀ ବିଭିନ୍ନ କୋର୍ସରେ ପାଠ ପଢୁଛନ୍ତି। ଏଥିରେ ୭ଟି ସ୍କୁଲରେ ୨୪ଟି ଇଞ୍ଜିନିୟରିଂ ପ୍ରୋଗ୍ରାମ, ୧୪ରୁ ଅଧିକ ବିଭାଗ ଓ ୨୭ରୁ ଅଧିକ ଉତ୍କର୍ଷ କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ଗଠନ କରାଯିବ। ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ସ୍କୁଲରେ ଶ୍ରେଣୀ ଗୃହ, ଲାବୋରେଟୋରୀ, ପ୍ରଫେସର ମାନଙ୍କ ଚାମ୍ବର ଓ ଗ୍ୟାଲେରୀ ରହିବ।  ସମସ୍ତ ସ୍କୁଲରେ ଅତ୍ୟାଧୁନିକ ଗବେଷଣା କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ଓ ଲାବୋରେଟୋରୀ ସୁବିଧା ଉପଲବ୍‌ଧ ହେବ। ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଉତ୍କର୍ଷ କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ସହିତ ଶିଳ୍ପାନୁଷ୍ଠାନ ମାନଙ୍କର ସହଭାଗୀତା  କରାଯିବ ଏବଂ ଏଥିରେ ଅତି କମ୍‌ରେ ଜଣେ ପୂର୍ବତନ ଛାତ୍ର ମେଣ୍ଟର ଭାବରେ ଦାୟିତ୍ବ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବେ। ଏହାଦ୍ବାରା ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଉତ୍କର୍ଷ କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ଶିଳ୍ପାନୁଷ୍ଠାନ ମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ  ଅତ୍ୟାଧୁନିକ ଗବେଷଣା  ଓ ପରାମର୍ଶ କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ଭାବରେ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିପାରିବ ଏବଂ ଗ୍ରାମ୍ୟ ଓ ସହରାଞ୍ଚଳର ଉନ୍ନତିକରଣ ପାଇଁ ଏକ ନୋଡାଲ ସେଣ୍ଟର ଭାବରେ ମଧ୍ୟ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିପାରିବ।

ବୈଠକରେ ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଶ୍ରୀ ନବୀନ ପଟ୍ଟନାୟକ ୩ ମାସ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସମସ୍ତ ସ୍ମାର୍ଟ କ୍ଲାସ ରୁମ୍‌ ନିର୍ମାଣ କାମ ସଂପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବାକୁ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶ ଦେଇଥିଲେ। ହଷ୍ଟେଲ ଓ ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ସାଧାରଣ ମରାମତି କାମକୁ ତୁରନ୍ତ ଶେଷ କରାଯିବ ଏବଂ ଅନୁଷ୍ଠାନକୁ ୨୪ ଘଣ୍ଟିଆ ବିଦ୍ୟୁତ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାର ସୁବିଧା କରାଯିବ। ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ବିଶ୍ବବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟର କୁଳପତି  ଓ ପ୍ରଫେସର ମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଅଲୋଚନା କରିଥିଲେ । ସେମାନେ ସମସ୍ତେ ଏହି ରୂପାନ୍ତର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟର ଉଚ୍ଚପ୍ରଶଂସା କରିବା ସହିତ ଏଥିପାଇଁ  ପ୍ରତିବଦ୍ଧତା ସହ  କାମ  କରିବେ ଦେବେ ବୋଲି ପ୍ରତିଶୃତି ଦେଇଥିଲେ

ଆଲୋଚନା ରେ ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଶାସନ ସଚିବ ଶ୍ରୀ ସୁରେଶ ଚନ୍ଦ୍ର ମହାପାତ୍ର ଓ ବରିଷ୍ଠ ଅଧିକାରୀ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ଥିଲେ ।
