By OB Bureau On Mar 5, 2021

Bhubaneswar: The first Indo-French dual degree Master’s programme on Sports Industry Management was launched by Xavier Emylon Business School (XEBS) here on Friday in the presence of Ambassador of France to India, Emmanuel Lenain.

The Indo-French dual degree programme, under the aegis of XEBS Ahluwalia Centre of Excellence in Sports Management (XEBS CESM), will include an MBA degree from Xavier University, Bhubaneswar, and MSc degree from Emlyon Business School, France.

XEBS CESM, a high-performance centre of excellence of the Odisha government formed with support from KJS Ahluwalia Group in 2019, had earlier launched two certificate programmes in sports management.

“I am happy to be a part of the launch of this Indo-French Dual Degree programme of XEBS Ahluwalia Centre of Excellence in Sports Management, that too in a state like Odisha that is being called the sports capital of India. I am also excited to know that the Centre of Excellence has signed Letters of Intent with Tony Parker Adequat Academy and Decathlon India, which will provide great opportunities to students. I had the chance to meet and interact with some of the sportspersons from the state including Chess player Padmini Rout at an event hosted by the Tourism Department of Odisha and am looking forward to explore the vibrant sports ecosystem of Odisha,” Ambassador Lenain said.

The course offers multi-campus experience across Bhubaneswar (XUB campus) and Paris (Emlyon Business School campus) and will be a full-time two-year residential programme with the best of faculty from the two institutions and industry experts from both countries.

XEBS CESM signed letters of intent with Tony Parker Adequat Academy, Lyon, and Decathlon, India, to collaborate and work in the field of sports, education and innovation for the benefit of students.

A new auditorium complex, built using 100 crores, was inaugurated at XIM University.  The main auditorium in that complex can seat 3000. This is currently the largest auditorium in Odisha. In addition there are four 150 size seminar halls.

The main auditorium is one of the largest in India. Google suggests Sri Shanmukhananda Hall in Mumbai to be the largest. As per  https://www.shanmukhananda.com/Main%20Auditorium.html, its seating capacity is 2763. GPT3 gives lists several indoor stadiums with much larger capacity.
