Metro Rail for Bhubaneswar - tenders, contracts etc,
#21
Bhubaneswar metro will connect to the Baramunda Bus station in a later phase.

Quote:The terminal will see the next level of transformation Bhubaneswar Metro is planned to be connected to the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bus Terminal.

“The next level of transformation would be when Bhubaneswar Metro lands in BSBAT connecting Airport, Railway Station, Info City and Trisulia. With HCM’s commitment this dream will also come true taking Bhubaneswar towards a world-class metropolitan town,” he added.

Earlier in https://odishadev.odishasociety.org/thre...tml#pid913 we mentioned that a spur from Jayadev Vihar to AIIMS square via Baramunda bus terminal is in the plans. This will be 10 kms. Also there is plan to take the metro beyond Trisulia across Mahanadi  over a new bridge to Netaji bus station in Cuttack. This will be 7 kms.

The Jayadev Vihar-Baramunda - AIIMS square spur is imagined below.

The following imagines the connection to Netaji bus terminal and then to Cuttack railway station via SCB and Ravenshaw.  I also imagine another spur via Barabati stadium to SCB making a small loop.

It is great that the new government plans to take central assistance for the metro. https://odishabytes.com/odisha-govt-to-a...-minister/ Most of the other metros in the country have received central assistance, so forgoing that did not make sense. Taking the central assistance we can quickly work on the extensions of the metro in both directions: Cuttack, and Baramunda Bus terminal. Earlier we gave couple of extension proposals. The following two maps build up on them.

In the above the metro line may be too close to the airplane path; so the following may be a better alternative.
