Quote:Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the alignment of the Capital Region Ring Road (CRRR).

Bypassing Khordha Town, Bhubaneswar, Athagarh, Cuttack, and Choudwar, the 111.2 km CRRR will be developed as a 6-lane carriageway. The project will be completed in 30 months.

According to the Works department, Rs 600 crore from state budget towards cost of land acquisition will be provided to NHAI for taking up this project.

Odisha Capital Region Ring Road – Information & Status

110.87 km Odisha Capital Region Ring Road (CRRR) project by NHAI is an approved 6 lane access-controlled highway around Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, Odisha.
This 6 lane expressway will connect Rameswar in Khurda district with Tangi, with an aim to allow vehicles on national highway NH-16 to bypass Khordha town, Bhubaneswar, Athagarh town, Cuttack & Choudwar town.
CRRR’s alignment was finalized in April 2021. Land acquisition started in June 2022.. The project’s Detailed Project Report (DPR) is unavailable. Its foundation stone has not yet been laid.

As per https://sambadepaper.com/imageview_61290..._1_sf.html there has been slight change to not disrupt elephants and allow them free movement near Kapilas. Thus a 6.78 km flyover near Kapilas would be incorporated in the plan with an additional cost of 500 crores. The central government has approved this extra expenditure. The project is expected to get done in 30 months.
