This makes the total investment on this facility to be 800 crores: 150 crore by the state government, 400 crores by the Department of Atomic Energy , and 250 crores by the Tatra Trust.

The faculty situation at NISER, as listed in their web pages, as of today (10th April 2023) is as follows:
  • School of Biological Sciences: 21 regular faculty, and 7 visiting faculty
  • School of Chemical Sciences: 21 regular faculty
  • School of Computer Sciences: 4 regular faculty
  • School of Earth & Planetary Sciences: 7 regular faculty, and 3 visiting faculty
  • School of Humanities & Social Sciences: 6 regular faculty
  • School of Mathematical Sciences: 23 regular faculty, and 1 visiting faculty
  • School of Physical Sciences: 33 regular faculty, and 10 visiting faculty
Thus they have a total of 115 regular faculty and 21 visiting faculty.

IIT Bhubaneswar faculty situation as listed in their web site today (April 9, 2023).
  • School of Basic Sciences: 15 in Physics, 13 in Chemistry, and 14 in Mathematics.
  • School of Earth, Ocean & Climate Sciences: 10 regular faculty, and 7 adjunct faculty.
  • School of Electrical Science: 10 in Electrical Engineering, 19 in Electronics & Communication Engineering, and 8 in Computer Science and engineering
  • School of Humanities, Social Sciences & Management: 7 in Economics, 6 in English, 3 in Psychology, and 3 in Philosophy
  • School of Infrastructure: 23 faculty
  • School of Mechanical Sciences: 25 faculty
  • School of Minerals. Metallurgical and Materials Engineering: 12 faculty
In total IIT Bhubaneswar has 168 faculty and >= 7 adjunct faculty.

The earlier financial commitment by Tata Trust will be taken care of by Tata Steel.

Why State govt not involving Vedanta Group ? if i'm not wrong Vedanta group also has a Cancer research hospital at Raipur, Chhattisgarh  location. Once that group wanted to build world class University at puri location.

It may be mentioned here that the Government of Odisha had signed an MoU with Tata Memorial Center, Mumbai, in September 2022 for the establishment of a 200 bedded state-of-the-art cancer hospital by TMC, Mumbai, on the campus of NISER at Jatni near Bhubaneswar.

The HBCHRC is a visionary project dedicated to providing world-class cancer care, research, and support services. This facility will feature cutting-edge technology, house renowned medical experts, and provide a patient-centred approach to cancer treatment. The mission is to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by cancer by offering comprehensive and compassionate care.

The Tata Steel Foundation will build the hospital at a cost of Rs 250 crore and donate it to the Tata Memorial Centre, Department of Atomic Energy, to run it. The Department of Atomic Energy has sanctioned Rs 400 crore to purchase equipment, construct the Dharamshala, residential complex, and hire human resources. The hospital will be fully commissioned by December 2025.

The facility will house the latest cancer treatment technology, including radiation therapy, advanced surgery, chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and stem cell transplants ensuring patients receive the best possible care.
