For 2021 admissions IISER Berhampur has 256 seats. This is more than the number of seats at NISER (200, as per https://www.nestexam.in/docs/21/NEST2021...llabus.pdf ) and more than number of seats in many of the IISERs. Following is from http://www.iiseradmission.in/faq.html .

– The tentative total number of seats available for BS-MS programme for each IISER (including supernumerary) is 1734 with each IISER having the following number of seats.

IISER Berhampur webpage at https://www.iiserbpr.ac.in/ mentions some new programs and courses. Those are:

It also says:

Permanent campus status in Mid-July 2023. The vlogger says it would take another 2 years for completion. My guess is that by 2024 August most operations (student and faculty housing, teaching, research, administration) would move to the new campus and some final touches will continue after that. As per https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jtoKejt...l=AnonymoA all BS-MS students have shifted to the permanent campus few months back, and the 2023-24 batch will start living in the permanent campus. BS-MS classes are also being held in the permanent campus. Labs have not completely shifted yet.

“We have advanced research in various fields and sophisticated equipment worth crores of rupees. We have already purchased equipment worth Rs 200 crore since IISER Berhampur was established in 2016. We will spend a further Rs 150 crore towards purchase of heavy equipment in next two years for making it a truly global institution. We are working on advanced research on material science and physics, material properties, semiconductor properties, solar properties, flexible solar cells and many others. We are also working on earth science to identify, analyse and investigate minerals through remote sensing,” Prof. Ganguly stated.
... The basic tenets of NEP 2020 model have already been incorporated in the curricular framework of the 5-year integrated BS-MS programme. Transdisciplinary credit framework is the novelty of IISER Berhampur curriculum, where students can earn credits across different subjects, Prof. Ganguly said.
For example, a student pursuing a major in Physics may opt for a minor programme in Biology, he explained. Similarly, students of Earth and Environmental Sciences can opt for Biological Sciences.
The director's profile at https://www.iiserbpr.ac.in/index.php?cat...d=director says: "Dr Ganguli is very keen to promote outreach activities for underprivileged sections of society and has visited remote schools and colleges in several states in the country." This explains his focus on outreach. This is excellent.

Faculty situation (July 26th, 2023)
Discarding overlaps, the total regular faculty is 45. As of today, IISER Tirupati, which started a year earlier, has a faculty of 62 (18+19+9+13+3 in Earth & Climate sciences)
