  State: Bhubaneswar-Puri and Barbil-Chandikhole Access controlled/restricted highways

Until now the only access-controlled highways under construction in Odisha was the segment of the Vizag-Raipur expressway that passes through Odisha.

The following news says Bhubaneswar-Puri highway will be a 6 lane access controlled highway (see also https://odishadev.odishasociety.org/forum-438.html ) and so is the Barbil - Chandikhole road.

Quote:The proposal for the development of a six-lane access controlled highway with two-lane service road on both sides of Bhubaneswar - Puri (NH-316) has been approved.

Apart from the Bhubaneswar-Puri road, Barbil - Chandikhole road will also be developed with six-lane access control with two-lane service road on both sides, informed Odisha government.

In a letter to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) Regional Officer, the Odisha government’s Works Department has asked the concerned department to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the above projects.

The officials have been asked to make a presentation before the Odisha Chief Secretary for finalization of the alignment and controlled access locations.

  Bhubaneswar - a pilot city by UN-Habitat (1/11 in the world)

Place of Bhubaneswar in providing basic facilities to the citizens of Bhubaneswar was ascertained and what to do about it was discussed. UN-Habitat will prepare the final draft and act on that draft by incorporating the data collected at different stages of quality of life from the 11 cities.

Surveys are being conducted in various ways on 9 parameters. It will last from 6 to 12 months. Data analysis, community and economic development, GIS, public health, capacity building or strategic planning, discussions at different phases, workshops and online and direct data exchange etc. will be done. A new draft will be prepared with regional and global indices.
